THE FOUNDER 

I’m Heather Burns, founder of Burns Consulting Group and an Albuquerque-based Fractional COO for contractors, construction companies, and trade businesses.

I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and I did not learn operations from a textbook. I learned it by building companies, managing people, solving expensive problems, and carrying the responsibility that comes with payroll, deadlines, customers, and crews.

My experience includes building, scaling, and operating a million-dollar specialized welding company. That means I understand the realities behind the polished business advice: labor issues, equipment, scheduling, job costing, change orders, cash-flow pressure, customer expectations, and the constant feeling that the business cannot move unless you move it.

I have also built and operated businesses across publishing, wellness, manufacturing, and international distribution. Those experiences strengthened my ability to see patterns, build systems, and turn complicated operations into clear, repeatable execution.

I founded Burns Consulting Group because too many excellent trade professionals are building businesses that make money but consume their entire lives. They are great at the work, but nobody ever taught them how to build the company around the work.

That is where I come in. I help owners uncover profit leaks, strengthen their teams, install systems, and build a business that can grow without requiring them to carry every decision.
